Center-Left vs Center-Right

Culture Core Differences, Part 1

By Shaheen the Anarcap

Personality differences can be found between the advocates of center-right politics and that of center-left politics.

A researcher named Dana Carney at Columbia University used compiled data collected from approximately 20,000 participants to find general trends and personality types affiliated with political ideology.

Center-Left “Liberals”:
•Core Value: Openness
•Creative, flexible, tolerant of ambiguity, open for new experiences
•More emotionally expressive, impulsive, indecisive and irresponsible
•Larger anterior cingulate cortex

Center-Right “Conservatives”:
•Core Value: Conscientiousness (careful/vigilant)
•Persistent, moralistic, organized, stable, economical
•More inhibited, tend to have a “just-world” belief system, which apparently contributes to their greater tolerance for inequality (painted as a negative by the article), fear of mortality
•Larger amygdala

Note that similar findings have been found in Europe, Australia and throughout North America.

Perhaps the differences in personalities of those on the left and right will mean we can only ever get a certain group of people to join our anarchic ranks, as certain other groups would literally be wired for a lust for a different system. I think that it can be accepted by all on our side that center-righters, republicans, conservatives or whatever the fuck we want to call them generally share, in truth, an ideology far closer to that of ours (often endorsing free markets, competition, low taxes, individualism, liberty and limited government), especially when compared to center-lefts.

So, I will conclude that it might be easier and less work to intellectually smash the living statism out of a right leaner (boner for authority, wars, drug war, etc) than to do the same to a left leaner (welfare, healthcare, minimum wage, social justice and anti-capitalist culture).
