We have this book set and read them to our 3-1/2 year-old.  She’s a big fan of the “I, Pencil” adaptation.  After we read the book, we watch the video of the original Leonard Read read essay here:

Then we end up watching YouTube videos about how crayons are made, where milk comes from, how they make tires, watching a printing press in action…you get the idea.

These books are great for sparking the imagination and sharing some valuable lessons with your children that they won’t get in school.

One big lesson that my daughter now knows from the “Road to Serfdom” adaptation, is that even though as individuals, we plan things for ourselves all the time, BUT that doesn’t mean that we are able to plan for others.  I told here that 99% of the population doesn’t understand that important lesson.

Basically, my point is, if you have kids – get these books.  They’re cheap enough to be almost impulse-buy material…and if you read them to your kids a couple of times, you will get well more value than you paid for these colorful, lesson-packed books that provide a perspective from liberty.

Media Doesn’t Care About Pedophiles

The last 2 weeks has been rough for Donald Trump and his supporters. First there was the political assassination of the Michael Flynn. Now his enemies were looking to add Milo Yiannopoulos to the political body count.

Milo, a gay, Jewish, conservative provocateur, who has given the left fits, (And been the inspiration for a massive riot)  was on a YouTube podcast a little over a year ago, in this live-stream he made some comments about the age of consent, and about his own life and sexuality.  Recently the video resurfaced, but cut to make Milo look as though he was supporting pedophilia. I am not going to get into why that is false, but will suggest everyone see the whole segment and then decide for yourself.

DEVELOPING – Reports of Riots in Sweden

From someone who actually lives in Stockholm

EDIT

Yes, with one minor correction. I don’t live in Sweden anymore. I was born and raised there, and I have family living there. I do follow Sweden closely because it’s my home country, but thank goodness I do not live there anymore.

In Stockholm specifically, which is my hometown

I have an open offer for them to write an article for us here, but they want to make sure they have the facts straight first.

I can, but probably have to wait till tomorrow, because it’s not all clear how this played out, and what the triggers were? I’m sure it will be even worse than from what I know now, once I get all the facts straight.

Riots in Stockholm tonight. 10-12 cars burning, rocks being thrown at police, firefighters, and paramedics. Donald Trump was able to predict the future with his obscure comment the other day. The world has gone mad, and Sweden has a greater number of “no go” zones than, for example Chicago. Forced integration and multiculturalism has been such a huge failure.

Rinkeby, a southern suburb of Stockholm, with almost 100% immigrant population, is in flames after an arrest warrant was carried out by the Stockholm police department. It’s a total mess.

Sweden took in more than 160K immigrants in 2016 alone. Sexual assaults and rape crimes have gone up factorial (steeper than exponential). South-East Bronx is considered safer than these neighborhoods in Sweden.

In response to a question about Trump’s recent remarks regarding crime in Sweden related to immigration:

Yep, it’s like really embarrassing for Sweden too. The Swedish state authorities had demanded an explanation of what he meant with his comment, and now this happened…..

Few things are worse than a “smart” leftist.

My two cents on the “Taxes Give the Dollar its Value Argument:

The “taxes give the dollar value” argument is based on that because taxes MUST be paid in dollars…people need dollars. Hence, they will be in use and desired as a medium of exchange with which to pay those taxes. It’s not a great argument. But, it’s an argument. Statist gonna state.

The Last Word:

The overall theme of these kinds of posts seems to be Democrats asserting that the Republicans are operating the theft/coercion/murder equipment the “wrong” way failing utterly in realizing there is no “right” way to operate such a thing. Let alone experience any regret that their own cheerleading for the expansion of the executive under the “right” guy has lead directly to the use of those same expanded powers by the “wrong” guy. Both wings of the Remoblicrat Party labor under the delusion that they disagree at all with each other on the state’s primacy in ordering society.

Progressive movement came in in 1900 to eliminate political parties. Technocrats and bureaucrats take over political power. Rural versus urban. Eliminate mayors, eliminate voting altogether, have appointed bureaucrats only. Nationalize public school system so costs could be socialized, like getting the public schools to teach Spanish. Children can all be part of a collective, without parental influence. Control shifted from ethnic working class small communities to upper class WASPS.

Only synthetic drugs remained legal in medicine. Rockefeller Institute backed it. Homeopathy was outlawed. Hospitals overused fancy equipment and cared about just the doctors not the patients.

The Progressive party was created by JP Morgan interests.

State dominated cartels used intellectuals as apologists for the government. Big unionism was to transmit orders to the working class. Public utilities were government monopolies for fifty year terms, run without any checks by the public. It is the function of government to run everything. Regulation was rampant, e.g. prohibition. Social workers wanted to abolish the saloons. German brewers were suspect of weakening soldiers. Constitutional amendment outlawed liquor.
