Give us liberty or give us mandates which we will blindly follow…apparently true for 99% of the people who will be celebrating their “independence” this July 4th.

Google Description for the film

The Patriot

A widowed farmer, with a brave but brutal military past, decides not to join up when the British arrive in 1776. However, when his son enlists and is later captured by the enemy, the former soldier must abandon his new-found pacifist principles in order to rescue his oldest child, and forms a regiment of Carolina patriots, whose guerrilla tactics prove pivotal to the US war effort.

Snobby Bobby of the Not For Everyone Podcast is a first-time guest, but we expect him to join us again in the future for more episodes. You can find his podcast on SoundCloud and wherever podcasts are available:

These fellas also spend the first 30 – 40 minutes of each episode just BSing about random adjacent topics such comics, heavy metal, bigfoot, death row meals and half-assed paranormal investigation adventures.

Host Heroes: John Carpenter, Fred Dekker. Stan Winston, Kurt Russell, Bill Paxton, Glenn Danzig and Dracula.

Show Notes:

Conceived in Liberty, authored by Murray Rothbard, is a 5-volume narrative concerning the history of the United States from the pre-colonial period through the American Revolution.

There’s never been a more urgent time to remember the revolutionary and even libertarian roots of the American founding, and there’s no better guide to what this means in the narrative of the Colonial period than Murray Rothbard. Rothbard’s ambition was to shed new light on Colonial history and show that the struggle for human liberty was the heart and soul of this land from its discovery through the culminating event of the American Revolution. This volume is a tour de force, enough to establish Rothbard as one of the great American historians. This single book (volumes 1–4) covers the discovery of the Americas and the colonies in the 17th century, the period of “salutary neglect” in the first half of the 18th century, the advance to revolution, from 1760–1775 and the political, military, and ideological history of the revolution and after.

The fifth volume of Conceived in Liberty highlights the most important battle of the American project, one that continues to this day: the conflict between those who want to centralize power and those who choose to stand to defend the American heritage of liberty. This book features a foreword by Judge Andrew P. Napolitano, a preface by Dr. Thomas E. Woods, and an introduction by Dr. Patrick Newman. The fifth volume completes Murray’s great work, lost for decades, yet as relevant as the day he finished it.

And here is Hans-Hermann Hoppe’s book that we mentioned, “Democracy the God That Failed”:

This 15-minute podcast by Robert Wenzel explains the mentality of the 99% driven to fear by the MSM and politicians:

Here is the video that Bobby shared with me highlighting how the movie goes out of its way in making the British to be the most dastardly villains possible:

Here is another review of the movie:

Next week, we’re going to get classy, San Diego, with our good friend Pete Quinones AKA Mance Rayder of the Free Man Beyond the Wall Podcast as we a review of the Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman classic, “Casablanca” before it gets deplatformed.

Thank you for joining us on this episode of the Actual Anarchy Podcast!

The Actual Anarchy Podcast is all about Maximum Freedom.

Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. If it’s voluntary, we’re cool with it. If it’s not, then it violated the Non-Aggression Principle and Property Rights – the core tenants of Libertarian Theory – and hence – human freedom.

We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking. Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter.

We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film.

The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film.

We publish new episodes on Sunday just in time for your Monday commute; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics).

For our show where we talk about movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective, we often watch them on our various devices via Netflix, Amazon Prime or on VUDU (which lets you redeem UV content as well). The VUDU one is nice because once it is in there, you know it will still be there a few months later:
