A Hurricane of Hubris…

social justice warrior, white angel, leftist, leftism, progressive, cartoon

The following article is shared from Dissident Mama, and makes a number of thought-provoking points that I think is more than a little relevant to libertarians, ancaps and voluntaryists. That and she also commissioned libertopia to create the above cartoon, which is pretty cool too. So, hope you enjoy!

Poverty is indeed predictable. According to economist Walter Williams, here’s how to bypass poverty: “Complete high school; get a job, any kind of a job; get married before having children; and be a law-abiding citizen.”

As a black man raised by a single mom, Williams rose up and escaped the projects himself. To him, and most clear-thinking people, no amount of emotional claptrap will change the reality that repeatedly making bad decisions will result in bad outcomes.

But when it comes to poverty, it’s all about social scientism, in which leftists make up entire ideologies they think will support their unrealistic theories. They create fictions in order to promote their progressive hocus-pocus and to hell with the collateral damage.

Take a Fakebook post shared during Hurricane Florence. It was written by Gwen Frisbie-Fulton, whose Twitter bio reads: “activist~writer~southerner~anarchist.” And not “anarchist” in the anti-government way, but more in the anarcho-tyranny, statist vein.

Ms. Hyphenated-Last-Name sure talks a lot about the import of fully funding public schools for a chick who’s supposed to be anti-authority. Then again, her profile lists her big issues as “homelessness, housing, women, ecology, egalitarian organizing.”

I gotta give her credit, though. She at least sends her son to a failing Title One school, where he’s part of the 15% of white students. That’s a serious commitment to “equality.”

Yet no mention of “boys” in her issues or “mother” in her bio. Fulton’s a grrrrl of the New South, casting off the shackles of tradition and embracing post-modern fallacies. Sad ’cause she’s a decent writer.

So, we’ve considered the source. Now let’s deconstruct Fulton’s words and the false and dangerous presuppositions they propel forward as fact. After all, when lies are wrapped in powerful language and tug at your heartstrings, it can be hard not to fall for them.

The Left Edge of Insanity: Short Dystopian Fiction

Will this be our future? Don’t miss this amazing and extremely thought provoking dystopian short story on the advance of progressivism and leftism! Maria on facebook says in regards to the story that it’s like, “George Orwell reincarnated – with a dry wit“. Rob says, “I wish there were a progressive rock band that would turn this into a concept album. At times it sounds like 2112.” Enjoy!

To my fellow Associates: My name is Diversity-26, although my family and friends knew me as John before the Great Purge of Christianity. Today, as part of my punishment, I have been required to give you my story and beg you all for forgiveness for having disrupted your safe and happy lives.

According to the decrees of Democratic Socialism (or Dezism), I am a non-binary citizen of the Commune of Equality. The year is 142 E.T. (Era of Tolerance), and I live in the Quadrant of Purple, which is now referenced in history as The Great Wicked South Carolina by our State Educational Officers. Some of you may recall that I once wrote for <censored> before the Egalitarian Uprisings of 2020 P.T. (Pre-Tolerance), and the subsequent instituting of the Holy Doctrines of Leftism. In the years following, I was drafted into the Grand Army of the Antifa to fight the endless Wars of Southern Fascism – which many of our brave Associates continue to fight to this day. I served Rainbow Nation with honor, and was discharged seven years ago after losing my right arm and being blinded in my left eye by Fascist Free Market Shrapnel.

As tribute to my service, I was allowed to live within Progress City, a vast complex of prefabricated structures and shipping containers provided by our benevolent Dezi Party Officials. It was here that my Associates and I lovingly contributed to the advancement of Secular Multiculturalism and The Great All by encouraging positivity and harmony throughout the Quadrant of Purple. Some of the ways we shared in this happy task was through eliminating and censoring any images, artwork, books, movies, historical artifacts, music, etc. that may give offense to any group protected by the State. I am proud to say that we performed our tasks with remarkable efficiency, and 452,975 pieces of illegal material were incinerated under my watch alone.

But as stated by the Holy Doctrines of Leftism, it’s only a matter of time before the sins of individualism, agrarianism, or capitalism burst forth and must be purged. My first offense was during the daily Weeping and Gnashing over the Crimes of the Past. The non-binary pre-pubescent life form the State provided me with happened to fall asleep during the ritual, and because I didn’t want to be arrested for being a poor role model, I woke them up. However, my child felt their status as an Equal was threatened, and promptly contacted their Public School Watcher, who then notified the Hallowed Halls of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Thankfully, due to their dedicated inquisition, it was soon discovered that I had not only committed one, but two Equality Infractions. The second was for neglecting to let my dog sleep in my bed with me on a cold night. For both cases, I was placed on the SPLC’s Map of Hate, and all Associates in the Commune of Equality were notified that I was a potential Child and Animal Abuse Predator.

My third offense occurred while communicating with friends on the Social Network known as Twitbook. I foolishly shared a photo of what I mistook for a beautiful statue that I discovered in a densely forested area beyond Progress City. Although Twitbook algorithms ensured that only a limited few saw the image (unless I paid a special tax to boost the image to a wider audience), the Twitbook Internal Artificial Intelligence Network recognized the image as a potential violation and promptly notified the proper authorities. State Peace Enforcers quickly responded, and identified the picture as something called a Racist Remnant of the Putrid South. After deleting the image and offering grief counseling to those who had seen the offending image, they then put me on a weeklong suspension from the network. I don’t know what the Confederacy was or how it was associated with this statue, but now, praise The State, I know it was a despicable thing. Furthermore, I have been assured the actual artwork will soon be destroyed secretly at night for the safety of all Associates throughout the Quadrant of Purple.

The High Priests of Tolerance had been merciful to me thus far, but the fourth offense I committed could not be ignored. I shudder to even mention it, but I was caught reading a book I should have liquidated. It was an ancient Book of Barbarism called Uncle Remus. I’m sorrowed to say that I was quite captivated by a picture in the front featuring an unusual white haired, dark skinned person talking to a rabbit. The stories within amused me, and made me think that perhaps those wretched people of the past might not have been as terrible as our schools, movies and books have lead us to believe. Of course, I now know this is false, as I was later reassured of the truth of Statism by being made to watch 72 hours of non-stop recordings from CNN, Fox News and Great Thinkers like Eric Foner and Bernie Sanders.

And so this brings me to the present. Fellow Associates, know that today I do not kneel in shame or embarrassment before you like a traitor, but that I stand proudly before you and our Rainbow Flag on global news feed. Like you, I have pledged allegiance to our State, and long ago signed my Oath of Loyalty in blood. I admitted to my sins against Rainbow Nation in Court, and was rightly sentenced by the Social Justice Tribunal for Political and Cultural Crimes against Life. As such, I will joyfully serve out 24 years of Equality Sensitivity Training at The Peaceful Way Re-education Gulag. This is likely the last time you will hear from me – for a while, at least, but hopefully not forever. Still, if it is, so be it. The State gives, and the State takes away. Blessed be the name of the State.

New Cartoon: The Social Media Monster…?

social media, cartoon, creepy, censorship, illustration, big brother, orwellian

After listening to Episode 17 of Michael Malice’s podcast of “YOUR WELCOME” (which is one of the few podcasts I regularly listen to), I was motivated to come up with this cartoon. In the show, Michael Malice is joined by documentary filmmaker Matt Taylor and psychologist, professor and author Dr. Robert Epstein to talk about the documentary “The Creepy Line” which delves into how online powerhouses like Google and Facebook’s practices pose a serious threat to society. See more at Michael Malice “YOUR WELCOME“.

American Socialists Release “Heroes of Leftism” Card Game!

Bernie Sanders, Parody, Socialist, leftism, card gameGalactic Imperium News Service: The American Society of Socialists recently unveiled a collectible card game designed to excite and entice young people into the wonderful world of Socialism. Backed by a number of prominent American Socialists who have made their fortunes in the University system and through building Social Media Empires, Democratic Socialist party officials praised the “Heroes of Leftism” card set and planned to distribute millions of the cards for Halloween Trick-Or-Treaters.

The numbered set features prominent Progressives, Leftists and Socialists who are impacting culture today. Below each name, there’s a short bio and special “abilities” which can be played as part of the game. Some cards may counteract these abilities, or detract from the overall power rating of various abilities. (Note: The samples in this post features Bernie Sanders, Barack Obama, Historian Eric Foner, beloved leftist icon Margaret Sanger, and Ocasio-Cortez)

Says Josefs Talon of the National Educators Union of Socialists, “We recently heard former President Barack Obama decry National Socialism, or Nazism, which we were afraid would be really confusing to many of our young people who love the free stuff that socialism provides. In fact, some amongst the Democratic Socialists – or Dezism as some call it – were wondering if we might need to engage in a rebranding effort. However, this card game comes at an ideal time to distract our little radicals with something cool to focus on until Obama’s confusing statements are forgotten.”

A Mascot for the Left: General Leftisimo

leftism, equality, indoctrination, propaganda, statism,

A Mascot for the Left: General Leftisimo! This was a pretty fun cartoon to illustrate, and one I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I know the so-called “Right” has their share of nuts and tyrants (like the recent weird adoration of neo-conservative John McCain by the Establishment), but it does seem like the Left has decided to go full-tilt insanity in the last couple of decades. My inspiration for this particular illustration was that of a fire and brimstone pastor, or a megalomaniacal dictator thundering down from on high. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without all the trappings of the left, like the hypocritical equality symbol (equal as long as they agree), the rainbow flag (tolerant of only those who they love), the peace symbol (peace unless they think you deserve death) and of course – a LGBT symbol on his cap thrown in for good measure. Hope you enjoy it! And if you don’t, well…

Libertopia’s Youth Art Contest 2nd Place Winner!

art contest, youth entry

Libertopia announces the 2nd Place Winner for our 2018 Youth Art Contest! As part of our mission to help encourage liberty in the arts, the team here at libertopia is extremely proud to announce the 2nd Place Winner for the Youth Category (13 and under) of our 2018 Art and Creative Writing Contest (Find the details of the 2018 Contest right here)!

Houston, age 11 recently sent us his artwork and explains why his entry applies to a positive understanding of liberty, American Southern history, French History and Scottish history by stating the following: “I colored two Confederate flags: the Blood-Stained Banner and the Battle Flag. To me, there is nothing more pro-freedom than fighting for your home and family, and defending them against invasion and federal tyranny. I know that many people don’t appreciate these flags and think that they represent something bad. But if you really, really understand the War, you know that these are symbols for self-determination and against central authority.”

Houston continues, “The Battle Flag is based upon the St. Andrew’s Cross. It is called the Saltire cross and is named after Andrew the Apostle, who was crucified for his faith on a cross of that shape because he said he wasn’t worthy to be killed in the same way as Jesus. As a Christian, I understand that true liberty here and in heaven can only come through faith in our Lord, so this seemed like a good choice. Plus, it’s the flag the infantry carried onto the fields of battle, so it was the flag of the fighting soldiers – just normal men who risked their lives for kith and kin. Some were rich, some were poor, but all believed in keeping government small and close to home. And lots of these brave Southerners were of Scottish ancestry, which is why the flag looks so similar to the Flag of Scotland.

“And the Blood-Stained is cool because it has the Battle Flag in the corner,” Houston notes. “It was actually the official Third National Flag of the Confederate States of America. The red was added to the edge so it wouldn’t look like a flag of surrender and represents the blood spilled in sacrifice to the cause and also to honor Southerners with French heritage. Some say the design was made to have as little blue as possible since that was the color of the Yankees. That’s awesome!”

“My mom says some libertarians called flags ‘sky cloth.’ But I see them as reminders of history and as things with meaning and purpose. They can be good, or they can be bad, or they can be greatly misunderstood. But to me, these flags mean tradition and live and let live, and are resistance against being told what to do by people and politicians who just don’t care about you, your home, your family, or your rights.”

Thanks Houston, nice job! We also agree that standing up for our homes and communities can indeed an admirable thing. For his work, Houston will receive a certificate, icon for display on social media and prize from our libertopia store. Check out the other Youth winner of our 2018 Art Contest here, as well as our adult winner here! Congratulations to all for sharing their talent and unique vision for this contest. It’s always fun to see what people come up with! See you next year! Questions? Comments? Leave one and let us know what you think!

Silent Sam Artwork Censored by the Left at UNC

Silent Sam, Antifa, Leftist, Censorship, Art, UNC, University of Northern Carolina, Cartoon

Wait, what?! How in the world is the attempted destruction and censorship of the “Silent Sam” artwork (in the form of a monument located on the UNC campus) be a libertarian issue? And isn’t that statue dedicated to a bunch of racists who fought an illegal and immoral war against Washington D.C.?

Yeah, you get where I’m going with this. Not long ago, a rabid mob of brain-washed Leftist cry-babies (with a second grade public school understanding of history) toppled a monument dedicated to University of Northern Carolina students who defended their homes, families and communities not from slavery (surprise, surprise), but from invasion and the horrific atrocities allowed under a tyrannical regime. But wait, isn’t this a private property issue? Yeah, it would be if this was a monument that some guy had in his front yard. But this is a publicly funded, supposed institute of higher learning we’re talking about here. And even if it wasn’t, we could still question the bad taste of ripping down things that have artistic or cultural merit.

For example, maybe you’ve seen the movie Equilibrium, a pretty cool flick that deals with this very subject. In the movie it’s awful when we see a tyrannical government control human emotions and burn up books, artwork and other items that have the capability to stir the heart and mind. But then when the Left does it in the real-world, it’s now somehow okay? Crazy. But then again, so is a lot of what’s going on. And sometimes if you can’t do much of anything else, you can at least laugh about it.

Libertopia’s 2018 Youth Art Contest Winner!

Silent Sam, libertarian artist, art contest, 2018, youth winner, science fiction, parody artwork, warhammer 40KLibertopia announces the Winner for our 2018 Youth Art Contest! As part of our mission to help encourage liberty in the arts, the team here at libertopia is extremely proud to announce the winner for the Youth Category (13 and under) of our 2018 Art and Creative Writing Contest (Find the details of the 2018 Contest right here)!

The parody artwork features a character from the popular Warhammer 40K table-top game, and also has the text: “Join the Adeptus Patriotus: Serve your God-Emperor Today!” Below a red, white and blue soldier complete with top hat and blaster shooting fireworks and a large bullet bedecked with a federal flag, the text mentions the benefits of serving as an Adeptus Patriotus, which consists of such things as “Constant, Unreasonable War, Prevention of Heretical 3X5 index card burning (a nod to Tom Woods), aggressing against libertarian heretics and defending the imperium of America.

Silent Sam notes that his inspiration came from the table-top game he enjoys and the figures he likes to paint. He hopes to start a blog soon talking about his hobby. He also enjoys playing xbox 360, reading and sometimes listening to the Tom Woods podcast (which can be found here).

Awesome job! Meanwhile, Silent Sam wins a congratulatory certificate featuring his artwork (which we will mail to him), an icon to use on his blog site and a prize from the libertopia store!
