Episode 26 – Tombstone (1:39:55)

Let’s talk Tombstone and the not so wild west. What else is wrong about the opening narration by Robert Mitchum? Kurt Russell is a libertarian! Anybody catch the “Equal Pay for Equal Work” signage? Disequlibrium of violence (bad guys kill, no big deal; good guy kills one and is all sentimental – at first). Great quotes in this movie – an example of “parts greater than the whole” movie.

Our friend Kenny the Wizard from the Wizardly Wisdom Podcast and LibertarianNerds.com joins us for a raucous and weaving discussion about many things related to (and not even related) to this now classic Western.

And now some background on Tombstone from the Googs:

Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) and his brothers, Morgan (Bill Paxton) and Virgil (Sam Elliott), have left their gunslinger ways behind them to settle down and start a business in the town of Tombstone, Ariz. While they aren’t looking to find trouble, trouble soon finds them when they become targets of the ruthless Cowboy gang. Now, together with Wyatt’s best friend, Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer), the brothers pick up their guns once more to restore order to a lawless land.

Trailer:

A sizzling, star-studded cast brings to life the legendary battle to deliver justice to TOMBSTONE!
